Sgt. James F. Carty, D.S.C. - VFW POST 1545
A Message from the Commander of
Sgt. James F. Carty, D.S.C.
VFW Post 1545
If you served overseas in a combat area and have a campaign medal to verify your service, you are eligible to become a member of the VFW.
We are always looking for qualified veterans to join our Post, which is very active in this area. We have enjoyed being recognized as a 100% membership Post for the past 6 years by the VFW, Department of New York.
Our Post holds regular monthly meetings on the 2nd Wednesday at 7 PM, and it would be great if you could join us. We are in the process of rebuilding our Post facility. Our activities include Memorial Day services at local cemeteries to honor our past comrades; Flag Day ceremonies on June 14, the Windham July 4 parade, Veterans Day ceremonies, and numerous other social, community, fund raising, and support the troop’s events.
When we served our country on active duty, we wrote Uncle Sam a blank check payable up to and including our lives. We belong to the VFW for many reasons. One of those reasons for me is to be of service to my fellow veterans and my community.
Your membership in the VFW is a continuation of your service to your country, your community, and most importantly to that veteran of a foreign war whom you do not know, but will nonetheless be your comrade.

For information on joining the VFW; please call 201-741-6534
or email us at
     Please consider joining us.
WHEN: Every second Wednesday of every month.
WHERE: Post Building, 5565 Route 23, Windham, NY
TIME: 7:00 PM
I hope to see you there as a new member.
Sincerely yours,
Marc Farmilette
